I had a failed root canal because the tooth had curved roots and when they did it they couldn't make the curve 😔. It got infected and the infection caused bone loss on my jaw. I had to get it extracted and now i have to get a bone graft and an implant 😩😫.

Can someone explain on a chemical level why sodium chloride is used and what it does?

I use flat plastic and curl the clear strip like ribbon for wrapping Xmas presents. The curled clear strip wraps around tooth, additional wedges if you wish too.

Omg I have to have this done Monday under sedation thank god. The rtc failed on my molar , the numbing agent wouldn’t work on the tooth only surrounding areas . My dentist was going to pull it today however it was far too painful , and once we realized the tooth wouldn’t numb we knew it was really bad. This is so scary .

Great video, and excellent point about flooding the chamber with NaOCl while instrumenting. The endodontist at my dental school taught us this and called it the "tsunami effect" if you want a cheesy name for it!

my main problem is that when i get to work with hyperemic pulps, i can't seem to get to tooth numb in order to work comfortably both for me and the patient. this leads to an underworked canal and most of the time i can't even take down all the pulp tissue before sending calcium hydroxide.

How did you know it is lateral incisor rather than central incisor

Root canals failure rate is too high to bother getting this kind of treatment.

What material did you use for the drain?

Way too long

I used to do zero posts. Then I worked for a guy who did lots of metal posts and said he loved them. I started copying his technique and that's my new go-to post technique. No question a cast post and core is better but I have been very pleased with the metal posts and I love being able to do my post and core at an emergency appointment. I have done dozens of cases where the crown still fits but there is not much prep left after the crown broke off and the patient just wants to get a little more time out of the tooth. These are some of my favorite appointments. I think however that in the case above the cast post/core was a good idea since it is the best-fitting and most durable post you can make.

Great point! Additionally, designing your prep with between 3 and 6 degrees of circumferential axial taper should provide adequate retention against vertical and horizontal displacement!
